7 Ways to Help Your Child Handle Their "After School Restraint Collapse"

One of SOS Therapy and Learning Centre's core, guiding principles is to support our clients development of self-regulation skills. This article explains some of the reasons why children and adults require time to restore to a calm and alert level of arousal. For some people restoring to calm after a long day requires movement (20mins in the playground or a bike ride). For others reading a book or watching a few minutes of tv allows the brain to go into restorative mode. Each person is different and finding what works for your family may require trial and error. Inversion yoga poses are my go to for restoring to calm and alert too 😊 Clare Catmore Principal Speech Pathologist
